The opportunity to start a new world was amazing. Vance was grateful. But even before leaving Earth, he quickly began to get the sense that people forgot why it was necessary. He watched people begin to slip into old patterns of the same selfish motivations that doomed the planet in the first place and decided to do something about it.

Vance's philosophy is a guiding principle for the community's survival and prosperity. He sought out idealists, individuals disillusioned with the trajectory of humanity on Earth, who believed in the potential for a better society. These were people who not only dreamed of change but were ready to commit to the hard work of making it a reality. In Unity, Vance's people shared a fundamental belief: the mistakes of Earth must not be replicated in this new world. They understood that the core issue was not just the environment or the systems, but the human element - the tendencies that led to Earth's downfall.

They emphasized that in Unity, with its limited resources and isolated nature, the community had to come before the individual. Every action, every decision, had to be weighed against its impact on the collective well-being. Every technological advancement, every resource discovered, every innovation had to benefit all, not just a few. The people recruited know of mages and of Vance as a mage. They had to. Nothing in Unity could be properly explained if they didnt. To accomplish what they wanted to accomplish, every means needed to be placed at their disposal, which meant leaning on and heavily taking advantage of magic in all its forms. He even began to gather them to help in magical rituals, encouraging and hoping that the mortals among them might Awaken. As time went on, Vance even began to recruit other mortals from within Unity, whether it be people who were born there or others who had decided to split from the people they arrived with. Everyone was welcomed, as long as they shared the same goals and ideals.
