In the event that staff opens up the Council of Nine to PC seat holders the following rules and policies apply. This will be editted and amended as needed in the future.

Being a seat holder is a privilege, not a right, and you may be stripped of your seat at staff discretion.

A mage must have a Status (background) stat of at least 4 to hold a council seat.

Council Members are expected to be storytellers. They are expected to run events and PrPs for the sphere outside of the scheduled plot times staff runs.

Council members are expected to be active players. Idling out vacates the seat. If the character is moved to the roster, they are not an active council member. Any council member that is chronically AFK and unresponsive will be stripped of their position.

Any ruling the council makes must be approved by staff before any announcement is made.

Council Members will be re-evaluated on a yearly basis. Ideally, a player may only hold a seat of 1 year, but we realize that isn't always feasible given game population.

Loss of Status (background) will occur if a character has to be removed from the council by staff. Not fullfilling your IC duties is serious and will result in loss of 2 points to your Status background. See: General Mage Help for information on 'Status'

Any complaints, inquiries regarding the council and its members should be submitted to staff via +request.

Tradition Heralds

Each Tradition has the option of choosing a PC to act as Herald to the NPC Seat holder. Heralds have no authority to make judgements or rulings but they may announce them. Heralds are expected to report to the NPC on a weekly basis. (ie, +herald to staff) Reporting to your Seat Holder is considered an IC action, so a small amount of Xp is awarded. (+herald <title>=<message>)

Heralds may be replace at any time by staff discretion or tradition request.
