Without the inherent sense of self and history, the stable upbringing of a single family household, he was forced to search for his own identity externally.<br><br>The rhythmic cadences and philosophical undertones of the Wu-Tang Clan offered him a sanctuary of solace and guidance, leading him to a fascination with vintage martial arts films. This newfound appreciation for martial arts, with narratives of lone warriors defending against overwhelming forces with merely their physique, intellect, and honor, struck a chord within him. He fell into the world of mixed martial arts when he became a teenager, surrounding himself in that world as an escape from the real one. His odyssey, from the foster system to donning the badge of a police officer amidst the tangible discord between the LAPD and the Black community, stood as a testament to his unyielding spirit and quest for justice within a frequently perceived oppressive system.<br><br>His life took a pivotal turn a year into his service with the LAPD when he was recruited to a martial arts tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He had participated in many tournaments as part of his martial arts career, from youth to adulthood, sparring to full contact. Participating in these tournaments had helped finance his transition from the foster care system to the police academy. This tournament, unbeknownst to him, was different, organized and financed by the Roda d'Oro within the Akashic Brotherhood, who saw potential in his disciplined martial prowess and philosophical inclinations towards the deeper mysteries of life.
